On Trial for your Life

She sighed as she walked through the town. She was pleasaed to be back home, she had missed the trees a lot. She wondered if the others would be worried about what was to happen to their so called King. And if Glenawings parents would say anything to her.

Glenawing woke knowing today was his trial date. He flexed his arms and scowled as the manacles chaffed his wrists.

Arven saw Gem walking, he walked up to her and said to her softly, "Gem don't forget of all the years Glen served you as a General and a friend."

“Thats what makes this all the worse, Arven,” she replied. She sighed. “He knew though that betraying me like that is a death sentance. I don’t have a choice in the matter there.”

Arven's face paled knowing his son's death was imenant, "How will we tell the grandchildren?"

“I don’t know how thats going to happen, Arven.” She sighed. “I said I’d make sure they were looked after though.” It was not a pleasent thought.

Drannor headed down into the dungeons.

Glenawing heard Drannor and he stood up waiting for him.

Arven sighed, "They will be devestated to know they are orphans."

“Thats something that I knew was coming, though they still have you and me as well. As much as I hate to think about it, I am their aunt. Keya’s my cousin.” She sighed.

Drannor sighed as he opened the cell door and stepped in. “You have a few moments, Glenawing.”

"Just take these off and kill me already." he said harshly and coldly.

“No. I will not break the law,” Drannor replied. “I’m not going to kill you... yet.”

He sighed, "I am tired of this being caged like an animal, I want it to end quickly and I want my final rights to be done properly with honor and respect."

“Unfotunately, thats not mine to say anything about, Glenawing, though I will mention that to Gem,” Drannor said. “I doubt she’ll forget.”

"She better not." he stratained his hair and began to walk out of the dungeons with drannor.

He sighed. 'She won't."

He rolled his shoulders and waited for Drannor at the top of the stairs.

Drannor led the way down to the court room. He knew what he was doing when it came to Glenawing.

He followed him to the court where he had stood to give punishments before, now he would be the one recieving a punishment.

"Not plesent being on the ther side of things, is it?" Drannor asked. "I know what thats like."

He nodded and watched the people file in.

Gem entered with the others and Drannor moved off to his normal place in the courtroom. Gaurding the exit.

He saw Gem walked in and sighed waiting for this to be over.

Gem did not so much as look at Glenawing when she entered and headed to her seat.

He was becoming impatient, he tapped his foot and waited for the trial to begin.

Oh settle down, Glenawing," Meira chuckled as she walked in and took a seat near her mother.

He shot a look at her, "I'm waiting for my death."

Meira smiled. "Which you've brought on yourself."
